Upcoming Exhibitions

I received some really exciting news last night and wanted to share it with my everyone :)

I’ve been accepted into the Melbourne Independent Photography Festival 2012. I read my acceptance email at 1am and I didn’t get much sleep last night :)

The festival will run from April 2nd (opening night) until April 8th 2012. Each day of the festival will play host to a different event, all photography based, ranging from exhibitions and displays to book launches and screenings of new projects.

My involvement is with the Photo Prize 2012. Over 200 works have been selected from around the world and will be displayed in a juried exhibition, with winners announced on opening night.

As if that wasn’t enough good news to keep me going for the next month, while reading the IPF email, received another, this time from 1650 Gallery in Los Angeles!

I was informed that I’ve been accepted into their Skyward – The World Above Us Exhibition, which I had entered over a month ago (and I will admit, totally forgotten about!).

1650 hosts regular exhibitions, with online submissions to a set theme. They select the entries for the show and request they be mailed over or printed via their own photo print labs. Great system!

Skyward is a juried exhibition based on photography of the sky. An open theme to be interpreted at will by entrants. I submitted Escapism, shown below, as well as Eclipse. Escapism was accepted for the printed exhibition and Eclipse is included as part of the online annex exhibition.
